Introduction of Yoga
Yoga has its roots in India and is one of the oldest physical and mental disciplines. Yoga is a form of exercise based on the belief that the body and the breath are intimately connected with the mind. Yoga balance and harmonize the body, the mind, emotions and the intellect. It serves as a tool to allow us to remove the chaos of the world and find a peaceful refuge inside.
Hello, my name is Leandro Puente and I am going to be the new Yoga teacher at ÖKSF on Saturday mornings. I’m from Argentina and my first language is Spanish and I will therefore teach the classes in English and Swedish. Yoga is a big part of my life and I am really looking forward to share that with you. I took my degree as a Yoga teacher in Yoga Arohan Argentina in August 2017.
For me Yoga is a way of connect physically, mentally and spiritually and together we are going to explore and strive to find union between body, mind and soul.
In our practice we are going to deepen in:
Asana – Postures
Pranayama – Breathing
Pratyahara – Internal Focus
Dharana – Concentration
Dhyana – Meditation
Samadhi – Complete Union
Bring to the class
Wear comfortable clothes and please bring with you a blanket. The blanket is good to use as support in some postures and at the end of each class when we make a relaxation and meditation. When the body relaxes it quickly lowers its temperature so it is good to have something close to stay warm and comfortable.
It’s a beginner’s class and everyone is welcome. I will show all postures and do my best to explain so don’t worry if you don’t speak English very well.
A Warm Welcome!
